This is a rare opportunity to join the leading provider of gynaecological oncology services in New Zealand. This full time (1.0 FTE) position joins an existing collegial team of 3 SMO’s providing surgical clinical care for approximately 500 new cancers annually.

Auckland District Health Board (DHB) Gynaecological Oncology is the largest of the 3 Gynaecological Oncology Cancer Centres in New Zealand, with of catchment population of 2.3 million, providing tertiary gynaecological oncology services to ADHB, CMDHB, WDHB, Northland, Bay of Plenty, Lakes DHB, Tairawhiti and Waikato DHBs.

About the Role:

You will be primarily be responsible for:

• the provision of high-quality routine and emergency gynaecological oncology services
• be involved in non-clinical activities that include participation in training, continuous professional development and local clinical governance activities. Your on-call commitment is participation in the general gynaecology roster.

The position will be based at both Auckland City Hospital and Green Lane Clinical Centre sites, with potential outreach clinics. Auckland DHB Gynaecological Oncology service is an accredited training centre for CGO training and hosts the supraregional MDM which receives over 1000 referrals per year. The service encourages and supports staff research and continuing medical education.

About You:

• You will hold appropriate specialist and sub-specialist qualifications in gynaecological oncology and hold or
• Be eligible to obtain Vocational Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
• CGO accreditation and FRANZCOG are highly desirable.
• You will demonstrate high-level communication skills and encourage a collaborative and collegiate approach to ensure the best possible service is delivered.
