Auckland One Rail Looking for Service Coordinator (fixed term and permanent opportunities) at Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand Full Time

We are looking for proactive and detail-oriented individuals to join the Auckland One Rail, Rail Management Centre (RMC) as a Service Coordinator on a permanent and fixed term basis. This role is at the heart of real-time rail operations, where you’ll play a key part in keeping Auckland’s train services running smoothly and efficiently.

About the Role:

As a Service Coordinator, you will be responsible for monitoring and coordinating train services across the Auckland Rail Network, ensuring they operate in line with the agreed timetable. Working in the RMC at the brand-new Auckland Rail Operations Centre (AROC) in Ellerslie, you will provide clear operational direction to train crews, collaborate with key stakeholders, and make real-time decisions to manage disruptions effectively.

This role requires the ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment where multitasking and problem-solving are crucial.

📌 Please note: This is a 24/7 rostered position, including weekends and public holidays

Requirements

What You Bring

✔ Strong communication and decision-making skills, including professional phone, radio, and email communication.

✔ Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

✔ A team-focused approach, working collaboratively to deliver the best possible passenger experience.

✔ Excellent investigation and reporting skills to accurately document and analyse incidents.

✔ A background in transportation or logistics (preferred but not essential).

✔ Strong computer skills, with the ability to confidently operate and interpret data from complex systems used to manage rail operations, such as crew rostering software, real-time train tracking, network performance monitoring, and incident reporting tools.
