Auckland University of Technology Hiring for Office Administrator Job at Auckland Full Time

Refugees who arrive in Aotearoa all spend 5 weeks or more at the Mangere reception centre where they receive a full education programme managed by the Auckland University of Technology (AUT).
AUT seeks to recruit an administratior to support the office manager and the AUT teaching programme at the Mangere Reception Centre.

• This role is a 0.8 FTE (part-time), fixed-term role. There is a possibility for it to be a full-time role as the number of refugees coming into the country increases which is likely to be the case in the months to come as per government decisions.

The role involves all aspects of administration, but especially data management, electronic filing, timetabling, ordering (stationery and equipment), meeting minutes and occasionally supporting teaching staff with IT issues when they arise. The office assistant role may also include support for event planning for mini-conferences or symposiums. The suitable candidate should have a qualification or partial qualification in business studies and preferably experience in an education environment.
The Reception Centre is a diverse and dynamic environment and the successful candidate will be someone who is a good communicator and who is able to remain calm in all situations. The successful candidate will be able to cope with a wide range of daily activities and will enjoy working with colleagues and learners from a range of backgrounds and contexts. A compassionate person is ideal as the students have generally recently arrived from traumatic environments.
AUT will require successful applicants to provide proof of full COVID vaccination prior to commencement of employment.
