We seek a full-time Marketing Assistant to work in Connecticut. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to broaden their horizons with a rapidly growing company. You will work closely with the UK office, and will be responsible for:
· Acting as a point of contact between authors and the company
· Reviewing authors’ books and assisting with the marketing team in marketing said book
· Providing a high-level of support for all potential authors during the marketing process
· Speaking to authors on the phone and over email about their work
· Other general administrative tasks
Responsibilities:
· Collaborating with the marketing manager, internal teams, clients and partners on marketing strategy;
· Helping identify marketing trends and key opportunities for innovation;
· Learning and working with various types of software for digital marketing;
· Working closely with sales and marketing department;
· Creating marketing materials such as white papers, case studies, and presentations;
· Giving presentations;
· Maintaining a marketing database;
· Providing administrative support to the marketing and sales team;
· Preparing, formatting and editing a range of documents;
· Understanding company product and brand;
· General office duties;
· Creating and interpreting a variety of reports;
· Organizing market research;
· Analysing questionnaires and other forms of feedback;
· Working closely with the digital marketing team
Education and Experience: College degree desired, preferably in English or a related field, or an equivalent combination.
Skills and Experience:
· A passion for selling & growing the business and flexibility to work across a variety of adult and children’s books.
· A strong interest in book promotion or related media (magazines, music, film, etc.).
· Excellent administrative and organizational skills such as multitasking, prioritizing tasks and managing a busy inbox with timely follow-up skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office, Social Media sites and other software
· Professional communication skills when dealing with authors, press, bookshops and co-workers via phone and e-mail.
· Agility and ability to follow instructions.
· Strong business/commercial acumen.
· Excellent analytical and marketing skills.
· Fluent knowledge of email, digital, and direct marketing strategy and tactics.
· Advanced presentation and reporting skills.
· Strong persuasive skills.
· Ability to work independently.
· A good understanding of printing, publishing, and general knowledge.
· Excellent keyboarding and other computer skills.
· Excellent command of vocabulary, spelling, grammar and writing skills.
Please note that salary and hours are negotiable.
