What you’ll deliver with us

Our Lodgment platform is going through immense growth. To meet the business demand, we are looking for an Associate Software Engineer to join our friendly and dynamic team. Ideally, you will have experience in Front-end technologies with a focus on React, are familiar with – or have worked in – the AWS environment and have some experience (or exposure) with Java.

You will be

• Working on a front-end application built with React and Angular
• Working on product assets and contributing towards shared component libraries
• Working within the Scrum/SAFe agile methodology
• Working with business analysts and UX to translate requirements into technical design
• Working closely with the Engineering Lead and Senior Engineers to implement solutions aligned and consistent with Australia Post enterprise standards
• Contributing to the estimation, design, build and testing of software components
• Undertaking development activities required to deliver technology solutions that meet the business needs
• Applying critical thinking to solve problems across the development lifecycle.
• Ensuring code is of high quality and using the team’s testing methodology

About you

You have Proven industry experience in software development and have a passion for learning new front-end practices. You will have experience working collaboratively in a team and understand current front-end development standards and enterprise software development practices.

You’ll also need

• Experience with React, and Angular a nice to have
• Experience working with front-end languages – Javascript, SASS, HTML5, CSS3 & Typescript a nice to have
• Experience with front-end testing tools – Cypress, react-testing-library, Mocha, Jasmine, Istanbul
• Front-end development tools, such as Babel, Webpack, NPM
• An understanding of modern software development and design best practices
• Experience with Git and SCM tools, including Gitlab, Github or Bitbucket
• Exposure to CI/CD tools, such as Gitlab, Bamboo, AWS, etc.
• Exposure to AWS or other cloud services
• Exposure to Java software development, including Spring/MVC
• Exposure to Java based Microservices as an added advantage
• Experience working with REST API’s
