Customer Experience and Digital?

The purpose of Customer Experience and Digital is to create products that people love and trust, while delivering a sustainable future for Australia Post. The business unit is responsible for managing and transforming our enterprise products, innovation and digital capability. The five key areas that Customer Experience and Digital is responsible for include Customer Services, Digital and Data, Data Science, Identity Products & Services and Payments & Financial Services with Portfolio Strategy, Innovation and Engineering providing technical expertise across these portfolios.

What does the role involve?

Product Engineering sits within Customer Experience, Digital & Technology. The purpose of Product Engineering is to create products that customers love and trust whilst delivering a sustainable future for Australia Post. Product Engineering team members also play an integral part of the product teams providing a (technical) voice of the customer, sharing insights, market trends and guidance in to emerging technology thus contributing to the definition and evolution of products – Our role is to advise during the concept and early design of new products or revisions to existing products; to deliver solutions; and maintain the technology components of the customer product solution once in market.

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for undertaking and advising development activities required to deliver technology solutions that meet the business needs. Leads estimation activities and carries out system wide development work to time, budget and quality targets and in accordance with appropriate standards. Ensures industry standards are being considered throughout development lifecycle. Resolves technical development issues that may arise during the development lifecycle.

Technical and/or Professional Qualifications/Skills Required

Must have:

• React

• Understanding of development in AWS

• Source Code Repository (eg: Git)

• CI/CD (eg: bamboo, gitlab)

• Experience of working in AWS

• Knowledge of containerisation (eg: Docker)

Good to have:

• Java 1.8+

• Knowledge of how to build REST APIs – using Springboot/Spark Java

• Exposure to monitoring tools (eg: new relic, sumologic)

• Understanding the importance of API Gateways (eg: Kong)
