The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is seeking highly motivated Developer for a role within our Pega Team.
The position is at the APS 5 or 6 classification level and a permanent role. The successful applicants can work from either of our Canberra, Melbourne, or Brisbane offices.

The Data Acquisition Systems (DAS) section within TSD provides critical development and support for the ABS’s data acquisition function. About the role
The developer role within the Pega team contributes to development and support for the Pega platform. Responsibilities include:
Development
Liaise with clients and other stakeholders to fully understand business needs.
Design and implement solutions to best meet functional/non-functional needs, applying best practices suitable for the solution context, and the surrounding data acquisition architecture.
Support
Actively monitor and respond to production incidents and problems, applying ITSM good practices as per TSD standards.
Seek opportunities for continual improvement of application health.
Undertake environment hygiene activities such as application and infrastructure upgrades, to ensure ongoing health of the solution.
Relationship management
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders (including vendors), leveraging their expertise to resolve critical issues and make informed design and implementation decisions.
Team participation
Support and collaborate with other team members, assisting with adoption of good practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Contribute to general team health by actively participating in all agreed team ceremonies and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the team context.
