The Software Developer forms part of the Informatics team responsible for implementing and maintaining several web applications and database systems of important research datasets.The Software Developer will have good organisational skills with an ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines and communicate effectively in an academic environment.

As a member of the Informatics team, the Software Developer will work closely with technicians, bioinformaticians and scientists to develop components embedded within web applications to apply Next generation sequencing (NGS) and robotics technology for automation of genotyping services. Integration of existing colony management databases with a bioinformatics pipeline will be an integral part of the work. The occupant of this position will be responsible for the ad hoc software development of web applications supporting multiple projects for the APF and BRF.
