Awanui Labs – Wellington (previously known as Wellington SCL) is a part of Awanui Group, the largest network of human and veterinary pathology laboratories in New Zealand. The Wellington lab provides high-quality diagnostic pathology services to the community, healthcare professionals, and patients.

About the role | Mō te tūranga:

This is a permanent, full-time position working 80 hours fortnightly in our Anatomical Pathology department based in Wellington Hospital, Newtown.

Key responsibilities:

• Typing of Histology reports
• Booking clients for procedures, answering phone calls, and dealing with queries
• Collating of multi-disciplinary meetings
• General Administration

To succeed in this role, you will need | Kia angitu, me whai koe i:

• Previous medical typing experience
• Fast (minimum 60 wpm), accurate typing (accuracy favoured over speed)
• A strong command of medical terminology
• Previous experience using medical databases
• Exceptional MS Office experience – In particular Microsoft Excel
• Excellent command of the English language
• Excellent communication skills and the flexibility to take on a variety of duties as required
• Eligible to work in New Zealand
