AWS Infrastructure powers the world’s largest and fastest growing cloud. A key pillar supporting the massive scale of AWS cloud is our datacenter network. At AWS Networking, we are constantly looking for ways to improve the efficiency, and cost of the network. To achieve this, we are building Network Capacity modelling and, putting automation in place to control the system design and flow that determines how we scale the Network in the AWS data-center network, taking in real-time network inputs and state into account.
We are looking for a high judgement leader to head the SDE org for the Network capacity modelling. The leader will own defining the engineering roadmap, deployment, and operations of AWS Network capacity Modelling and forecasting system. More specifically, this leader will be responsible for the following.
· Creating a vision and leading engineering teams roadmap development, planning and execution responsibilities
· Working closely with customers and internal partners to drive technology roadmaps and invent new methods to support our ever increase network scale.
· Building a world class team by attracting and retaining industry leading talent.
· Targeting gaps in current processes and identify innovation opportunities to resolve security, availability, scalability, performance, agility and cost efficiency challenges.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· A background in computer science fundamentals: a bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science (or equivalent).
· 10+ years of experience in building production software applications.
· 4+ years of managing team(s) building scalable production software.
· 4+ years management experience leading software development team(s).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· A solid grounding in Computer Science fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design and systems architecture.
· Experience in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
· Experience with distributed algorithms, enterprise-wide systems and asynchronous messaging, and networking protocols.
· Deep hands-on technical expertise; prior experience as a software developer or software development manager.
· Experience in mentoring software engineers and engineering managers to improve their skills and efficiency.
· Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project.
· Excellent leadership, verbal and written communication skills.
