Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking an experienced System Administrator to install and support critical infrastructure at USSOCOM headquarters. Our SecureView (SV) team is responsible for successfully fielding software and systems that provide secure access to cross-domain virtualized desktop machines.Background in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting cross-domain systems is preferred.Candidate will need to report to middle and senior management on infrastructure efforts on a regular basis.

Duties may include:

• Image cross-domain workstations, laptops and other end point machines

• Migrating user profile, installing customer requested applications and deploying the device as per the schedule

• Assist with network configuration and management, data storage and troubleshooting, system integration, monitoring, and security, IT infrastructure design, and disaster recovery

• Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation

• Design and engineer new services to support USSOCOM missions

• Evaluate alternatives including cost, risk, supportability and analyses for total systems

• Support total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal

• Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions

• Translates customer requirements into hardware/software specifications

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Active TS/SCI Clearance

• Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years work experience in IT Engineering or equivalent experience

• DoD 8570 compliant with a minimum of Security

• Linux administration / Windows administration

• Virtualization – e.g. VMWare, Citrix, Xen

• VDI (VMWare Horizon View or Citrix XenDesktop) engineering and support experience

• Good writing skills

• Basic networking – such as a CCNA certification

• IT diagramming skills, e.g. Visio

• Time management, project management, independent worker

• Virtual private networking – for example Cisco VPN

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Familiarity with current cross-domain technologies

• Experience with Microsoft Windows OS (server and client), UNIX, Linux, scripting

• Experience with Microsoft products such as Active Directory, Office, SharePoint, Outlook

• Ability to problem solve and think critically sometimes independent of significant experience or documentation of the problem area

• Strong customer communication skills
