What is a Sourcing / Supplier Quality Engineer at BAE Systems? It is a highly empowered role with strategic and tactical Sourcing and Supplier Quality responsibilities for given commodities. BAE Systems is looking for an experienced candidate with interest in supplier quality and supplier management. In Controls & Avionics Solutions, you will have the opportunity to help define, support, and develop the next generation of avionics – whether it is fly-by-wire flight controls, full authority digital engine controls, or power management. The qualified individual will have responsibility for supporting the supply chain across these business areas. Candidates will need to demonstrate technical capability in order to communicate effectively with design / component engineering on quality improvement topics and cost reduction / design change opportunities both internally and within the supply base. Candidates will also need to exhibit good interpersonal skills in order to grow supplier relationships in order to support our business needs. In this job, you will:
Take the lead on a given commodity and influence the development of a 1 3 year strategy in a collaborative environment.
Align supply chain processes to support the strategic plan for the commodity, while executing tactical actions, including procurement.
Negotiate contracts, place purchase orders, and follow-up on supplier delivery.
Disposition nonconforming products, drive root cause / corrective action, and perform processes assessments at suppliers.
Foster growth of internal and external relationships through collaboration with cross functional teams and intentional engagements with suppliers.
Engage in the team-oriented environment to leverage growth and sharing while supporting a safe working environment.
Drive supplier performance to yield year over year improvement in quality, cash, cost, and delivery objectives.
Execute projects to improve efficiencies, drive out cost, manage change, and to mitigate risks.
Maintain compliance to established procurement and quality procedures.

Bachelor’s Degree
Strong Technical Aptitude
Excellent Written and Verbal Communication
Negotiation Skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Engineering or Technical Degree
2 years experience in related field
Supply Chain Coursework
Internship experience in a Supply Chain environment
