Business Data Management Analyst – Consumer Data Management

Job Description:
Consumer Data Management has creating teams supporting our new Business Data Owner roles to drive our data strategy more proactively and strengthen LOB ownership of our data remediation and business enablement priorities. This role will support the central Consumer Data Use Control team
Lead the registration of Physical Data Elements (PDEs) used in critical uses of data including Models and Strategies. Develop on-going sustainable processes for their management
Work with LOB leads and process owners in documenting data uses and linking those uses to process maps
Support establishment of process to manage inventory of Consumer data uses and related control points
Work with LOB and Tech partners to improve the management of data change linking Change project to critical uses and users to enable proactive management of data change
Support development and implementation of non-regulatory control framework
Support the development of enhanced Data Quality monitoring
Support development and implementation of integrated data change management framework
Required Skills:
• Ability to quickly acquire in depth knowledge about data ecosystems and translate into a data management framework
• Ability to assess data controls across a complex eco system and document related gaps and risks
• Ability to build management routines that collect and act on uses cases that meet in scope requirements
• Ability to package complex concepts into simple and easy to understand presentations for socialization with executive level leadership, Legal, Risk, Compliance and senior leaders which articulates associated risks and recommendations
• Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and garner consensus from multiple partners
• Demonstrated self-motivation, self-direction, organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities without sacrificing quality or timelines
• Ability to apply critical thinking to business problems and implement change
• Experience developing, implementing and monitoring data management controls and routines
• 2+ years of project management and/or related experienced experience
• Proficiency in MS Office product suite Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Desired Skills:
• Knowledge of Enterprise Data Management and Change Management Policies, Procedures & Governance
• Understanding of Enterprise Data Architecture (process map, linage, metadata, data quality)
• Familiarity with data flow analysis, preferably across client data domains
• Experience with business process design and practical implementation
• Exposure to Calibri-Metaportal, WMM, Zaloni
• Working knowledge of Teradata, HADOOP (SDP), SQL Server, HIVE, Impala and/or Linux
• Reporting & Analytics or Data visualization tools ie. Tableau, Microstrategy
• Understanding of the governing Consumer regulations – Z, B, AA, E, etc.
Enterprise Role Overview:
A Senior Data Analyst is responsible for ensuring data products and services are serviceable and valuable to users. Key responsibilities include working with users and development teams to ensure the data is fit for purpose, defining and monitoring the processes and controls that adhere to EDM Standards, and helping to triage and remediate data incidents. This role assists users with data queries and metadata, performs data analysis to reveal business insights, communicates data changes, and provides training to users so they understand and can access the data they need. A Senior Data Analyst is an individual contributor at a program level. They will work with the users to ensure data is accurate, complete and fit for purpose. Performs data analysis and helps construct reports to answer business questions and reveal business insights. Guides changes to data capture processes and data transformation logic. Maintains an inventory of all applications and data transformation in the data flow for the domain. Contributes to the definition and maintenance of the domain dictionary. Performs impact analysis of data changes, proactively communicates to and trains users on the changes. Assists in the definition, stewardship, quality control, metadata and access of data owned by respective domain. Implements and monitors required transport controls and maintenance of all required metadata to comply with EDM Standards for the data domain. Helps triage and resolve data incidents for the domain across Capture, Transport and Use in a timely manner. Aligns and monitors key performance indicators and internal controls.
