Group Change is a function within GTCS. Its purpose is to manage the successful delivery of change within Bank of Ireland. Group Change is accountable for end-to-end delivery of change across the Group. The function works closely with stakeholders to shape and deliver change. It also enables Bank of Ireland to evolve its delivery capability to better serve the customer.

Purpose of the Role

The Business Analyst is responsible for liaising with the business to define requirements and to facilitate the design of business and technology solutions to deliver change to the business.

Key Accountabilities

• Work alongside business stakeholders, in a pre-project capacity, to develop Business Cases/Do-Ability assessments
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to elicit requirements using techniques such as workshops, interviews, business process maps and user stories
• Produce accurate Business Requirements Documents, Functional Specifications and any other relevant documentation from draft to sign-off, adhering to the confines of our compliance and governance frameworks throughout
• Communicate the requirements to various stakeholders and act as translator between IT and the business to ensure the cohesive alignment of all parties
• Support IT in eliciting non-functional requirements from the business
• Identify and monitor potential risks, gaps and issues to minimise business and IT risk
• Adhere to and support the definition and continuous upkeep of Business Analysis documentation standards, appropriate best practice and methodologies as defined in Bank of Ireland
• Support all stages of testing through to UAT to ensure that requirements as detailed in specification documents have been delivered and are ready to be deployed

To support our strategic goals we are seeking to fill a Business Analyst role in the Payments Change Portfolio Team. You will be working in an environment which uses both Agile and Waterfall frameworks that assist in transforming the bank. You will be part of a growing team and will have the opportunity to grow and develop your skills whilst working closely with stakeholders across the business.

Essential Qualifications

• 5+ years working as a Business Analyst in agile/waterfall project environments
• Related 3rdLevel degree or equivalent relevant experience
• Business Analyst Qualification (e.g. BABOK, IIBA, ISEB) an advantage

Essential Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 5+ years experience working in the Financial Services sector (Payment systems experience an advantage)
• Experience capturing and documenting requirements and use cases, business rules, requirements traceability, UML modelling, user stories, storyboards
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to make technical conversations relevant to the business and vice versa
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, VISIO or other mapping tools
• Experience working within an agile framework using tools such as JIRA, Confluence is desirable
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-vendor environment and across a range of SDLCs with a focus on delivering quality outcomes
• Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels to support the delivery of Payments system change
• Self-motivated with a positive and flexible attitude
