Description of business unit
This manager role is within Decision Science, which is a business unit within the Group Risk division of Bank of Ireland Group. Decision Science is the analytical centre of excellence within the Division, with responsibility for the Group’s credit risk models, systems, data and reporting. The Decision Science Team plays a critical role in managing Credit Risk for BOI Group with responsibility for: developing and monitoring the Group’s credit risk models, including IRB, IFRS9 and operational decision-making models; deploying and optimising credit decision engines, decision tools and data sources utilised in automated decision-making and producing credit risk and business reporting and insights.
Purpose of the Role
The role holder will join the Corporate & Commercial Credit Risk Modelling team within Decision Science, Group Risk. The team is responsible for ensuring the technical excellence and regulatory compliance of all Commercial & Corporate (aka Wholesale/Non Retail) Credit Risk Models within the bank, for use in operational decision-making, IRB regulatory capital calculation and IFRS9 impairment calculation. It achieves this through timely, complete and accurate reporting of Corporate & Commercial model performance MI, periodic developments of new models and maintenance of existing models.
