About the Role

Reporting to the Lead mobile developer, you will play a senior role leading the development for the Virgin money mobile app. You will work within a cross functional mobile development team to deliver on the ongoing enhancement and new feature delivery for our new android application.

Specifically you will:

• Effectively lead technical teams, QA of code and delivery, support of UX, design and test teams;
• Provide mentorship and guidance to team members;
• Analyse and translate business hypothesises into solutions;
• Lead the development of mobile app solutions for a variety of projects including consumer and enterprise apps; and;
• Work with associated mobile technologies including Mobile Device Management (MDM), APIs and Mobile backend-as-a-service (MBaS).

About You

As an experienced Android App Developer, you will demonstrate previous experience in managing technical teams in delivering solutions using a variety of methodologies. You will enjoy preparing and presenting potential technical solutions and advising the business on the technical and business value of the proposition.

Further, you will;

• Demonstrate advanced knowledge and literacy of a primary mobile app platform using Android SDKs and the associated user interface guidelines;
• Possess intermediate knowledge of a secondary mobile app platform, complementary to your primary platform, and the associated user interface guidelines;
• Exhibit advanced knowledge of the iTunes and Google Play app stores, their requirements, dependencies, and processes for submitting a mobile app, coupled with expert knowledge and experience in defining mobile app APIs and mechanisms for authenticating app users; and;
• Experience of the security features available to the IOS and Android SDKs, for example, the hardware keychain.
