POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Accountant is responsible for providing transactional support for construction projects. The successful individual will ensure approvals, subcontract administration, LEMS, and billings are being adhered to. Ability to execute tasks, support multiple construction projects and maintain strong collaborative relationships with project management and administration is crucial to the success of this role.

KEY RESPONSABILITIES:

• Responsible for the contract administration and invoice approvals related to contracts
• Set up project codes, job costs, and controls in business central
• Accountable for reconciliation and progress billings, ensure on time and accurate
• Responsible for general accounting transactions, reconciliations, month-end procedures, and ensure compliance with deadlines
• Support the presentation of accurate, consistent, and relevant financial information on a timely basis
• Review projects to ensure costs are accurately allocated
• Monitor and ensure timely accounts receivable collections and deposits of payments
• Contribute to the deliverables for audit work requirements
• Apply knowledge of professional accounting standards, including revenue recognition and accruals
• Contribute to management reporting, client reporting, and forecasting for projects as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree or diploma in accounting or related field
• 3-5 years relevant accounting experience
• Comfortable learning new technology, experience with Microsoft Office 365
• Proficiency in ERP system and system controls

HOURS OF WORK:

The typical work schedule will be Monday through Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm with a 30-minute lunch break.
