Where the Chemistry Happens…
Research Technician – Wyandotte, MI (2103776)
We are seeking a professional like you to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for polymer synthesis and formulation/sample preparation to support polyurethane systems product development.
In this role you will:
Synthesize graft polyol dispersions
Operate, calibrate, and maintain automated graft polyol synthesis reactors, and other pieces of laboratory equipment
Mix and foam polyurethane formulations
Analyze polyols and formulations, including chemical and physical characterization
Assist in scale up and/or use of various polymer processing equipment
Document results in a timely manner into an electronic notebook system
Maintain safe and efficient laboratory conditions, while striving to constantly improve safety and efficiency
Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP)
Work independently and as a part of project teams to deliver results
Prepare, package, and ship samples
Enter product registration for polyol products

Your dedication to safety and compliance will be evident as you strive to maintain and improve a safe and efficient laboratory environment.
Applying your scientific knowledge (bachelor’s degree in a scientific field) and hands-on experience (at least one year laboratory experience, preferably in synthetic organic chemistry or polyurethane formulation), you will carry out laboratory experiments and record routine analytical data.
Your strong written and verbal communication skills will serve you well as you keep a detailed laboratory notebook and communicate results.

Basic qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field is required
One year laboratory experience required
Preferred qualifications:
Experience in synthetic organic or polymer chemistry or polyurethane formulation preferred.
Knowledge and experience with Analytical testing methods preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
