About the Role:
Do you live and breathe YouTube? Have you figured out the playbook on how to create successful channels with videos specifically designed for the platform? We are looking for a seasoned content creator who knows how to grow YouTube channels and optimize video content for the platform, to be our newest YouTube Strategy Manager. This role is vital in growing audiences of BBTV enterprise clients across YouTube and other social platforms, including major brands in film, television and sports.
Our ideal candidate is someone who has successfully operated YouTube accounts with significant scope and can effectively drive strategy, manage and inspire a team of channel managers, and create content optimized for YouTube success.
You are a master communicator, connector and executor, with a mindset for continuous self-improvement. Organized, analytical and strategic, you can identify how to reach the right audience through understanding how different content formats, approaches to video titles, thumbnails and keywords, and distribution schedules impact YouTube video performance. With your knowledge of the ins and outs of growing YouTube channels, you’re not afraid to change up your strategy and stay up to date on new trends as the platform evolves. You love data and have experience analyzing and understanding YouTube’s analytic reports. You are able to understand the needs and interests of diverse audiences, and can ideate on strategies to effectively grow channels in different content genres based on the client’s account you are supporting.
This role manages a team of YouTube Channel Managers (Specialists). You will mentor the channel managers, guiding them towards excellence while keeping them up to speed on the latest trends and best practices for channel growth.
Responsibilities:
Drive and document YouTube growth strategy best practices
Drive and document video optimization best practices for YouTube
Create templates for thumbnails and titles customized specifically for each client’s channel
Manage a team of Channel Development Managers (Specialists) who are responsible for all aspects of publishing (thumbnails, titles, meta data, scheduling) to ensure consistency with best practices and ongoing improvement
Lead content production on client accounts as assigned
Create and maintain publishing schedules optimized for channel growth
Generate recommendations for improvement and audience growth for individual channels based on your analysis of the channel’s data
You will collaborate with BBTV’s team on the following:
Serve as the subject matter expert on YouTube trends and ensure best practices and tactics are documented and adopted.
Work with video producers, editors, channel managers and graphic designers to help create optimized content and content templates for BBTV’s clients.
Collaborate with different BBTV teams and liaise with internal stakeholders on a regular basis.
Follows approval process accurately to ensure all content published is approved by the partner and internal stakeholders in a timely manner.
Requirements & Skills:
Minimum 5+ years experience managing and growing YouTube accounts, two of which involved managing a team.
Demonstrated ability to grow an engaged audience on YouTube
Understands how to measure YouTube analytics at an advanced level
Possess thumbnail design and YouTube title writing skills and is clear on best practices
Can handle basic graphic design on Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
Clear and concise communicator
Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
Sense of humour and no ego is required
