What you’ll be doing…
BC Transit’s Operations Division is responsible for the delivery of transit service throughout the Province outside of Metro Vancouver. Among the Division’s departments is Victoria Operations, which is responsible for the provision of drivers (Transit Operators), the delivery of a reliable customer centric transit service, and proactively influencing and responding to our customers’ experience.
The Service Delivery Supervisor plays a critical role, as part of the Victoria Operations team, by directly supervising the Depot activities including dispatch, plotting, and timekeeping while serving as a key liaison to the Service Delivery Managers. The Dispatch staff work 22 hours a day, 7 days a week, there is a possibility you wll be contacted by them during operating hours.

What you’ll bring to the table…

Preference given to candidates with a diverse combination of formal education/specialized training in areas of depot operations.
Post Secondary degree is an asset.
Grade 12 graduate
A minimum two to three years supervisory experience; working in a unionized environment an asset. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
A strong understanding of an Operations environment that will guide the evolution of BC Transit’s Depot team.
Advanced knowledge of the concepts, practices and techniques of operations management; public transit experience an asset.
Knowledge of corporate strategies, functions and programs
Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures and legislation
Strong familiarity in managing in a unionized environment including preference to experience working with, and informing, collective agreements.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills as well as the ability to recommend options and solutions to senior leadership on complex, multi-stakeholder issues
People leadership skills to manage reporting professionals and support staff
