Position Summary
Run all Facilities/Maintenance and Environmental, Health & Safety (E,H&S) activities associated with the Plant’s Business. Support Engineering Projects, Machinery and Equipment Improvement Project, Lead Tool Room, Preventive Maintenance Program and Spare Parts functional areas. Support all shift in accordance with the Business needs. Works in conjunction with Jones Lang LaSalle Americas Inc. (JLL) in activities related to Facilities and Maintenance for Juncos Plant.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Direct and supervise new equipment installations or relocation of existing equipment
2. Responsible for the evaluation of the feasibility of modifying existing equipment
3. Collaborate with the Manufacturing Manager and Supervisors in supporting any improvements to the processes and/or equipment, to ensure reliability at the highest possible level
4. Run E,H&S, Facilities & Maintenance activities in accordance with the department, quality and budget goals
5. Responsible for maintaining and evaluating all utilities including electric, vacuum, process water, compressed air, conditioning, sewer and drainage waters and responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of these systems
6. Coordinate periodic maintenance schedules including their planning and documentation
7. Ensure that Preventive Maintenance Program, Procedures and Schedules are established and implemented for all equipment
8. Maintain building systems for fire and accident prevention. Assure building compliance with Regulatory Standards
9. Control Departmental expenditures to meet Budget constraints. Assists in developing equipment and maintenance cost reduction
10. Select, train and develop Maintenance Employees. Ensures proper documentation of training efforts
11. Oversee and monitor building renovation or plant projects to assure accurate completion minimal disruption, budget conformance and customer need satisfaction
12. Assure efficient utilization of building facilities and space to maintain business competitiveness
13. Estimate building and maintenance project cost for labor and materials. Writes CB-2’s as required.
14. Responsible for Plant Janitorial Services, Pest control and Green Areas (exterior and interior)
15. Supervise & Assure Tool Room effectiveness
16. Responsible for waste collection
17. Lead Spare Parts Personnel and the required inventories of all spare parts for the Manufacturing Equipment
18. Follow all Local, State, Federal and BD Safety Regulations, Policies and Procedures. Maintains the Facility in compliance with Environmental Regulatory Agencies (Local and Federal), OSHA, QS Regulation/GMP’s, Insurance Company and Fire Department
19. Implement and maintain SAP for spare parts and preventive maintenance
20. Should be willing to travel as needed
21. Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills
1. Basic knowledge in Windows Application such as: Excel, Word, Power Point, MS Project.
2. SAP knowledge
3. Knowledge in problem solving, investigation techniques and IQ execution
4. Knowledge and experience with E,H&S, Production, Quality Control, FDA Regulations (QS Regulation, GMPs), and OSHA Regulations and ISO14001
5. Knowledge in PLC, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical systems, electronics, molding, motors and pumps
6. Thoughtful and measure, resolve oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations
7. Good interpersonal skills and collaboration ability.
8. Bilingual (Spanish & English)
Education and Experience
BBA in Engineering or related field
Minimum five (5) years experience in Pharmaceutical or Medical Devices Environment with five (5) years experience in maintenance and repair of chilled water for air conditioned and other industrial type HVAC Systems
Minimum three (3) years of experience on Facilities Management and three (3) years experience in Supervision
Hands on experience with a Preventive Maintenance, Industrial Molding Machines and/or Industrial Mechanics
