BACKGROUND: Since 1952, Beacon Group has been creating opportunities for people with disabilities across Southern Arizona, Phoenix and beyond. As a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, Beacon serves over 1,700 people with disabilities each year. Beacon provides job training and placement, supported and center-based employment, and day treatment programs to assist the more than two-thirds of working-age people with disabilities who do not have a job. POSITION INTRODUCTION: Reliable driver with a friendly attitude is needed to pick up and deliver bins. Must possess the ability to lift 70 lbs and push 300 lbs in rolling bins, and walk long distances.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Climb/step-up into a truck cab

+ Grip, lift, push, pull, and carry wheeled, plastic bins over, up and down inclines, stairs, changes in walking surfaces and elevations

+ Lift at least 70 lbs.

+ Walk, stand and sit for extended periods of time

+ Push, Pull bins from 25-350 lbs., with an average weight of 170 lbs.

+ Strong customer service and verbal communication skills

+ Computer proficiency

+ Operates company equipment in a safe and efficient manner in an effort to minimize the risk of injury and equipment damage.

+ Commitment to adhere and enforce all security procedure

+ Maintains a high level of security when emptying consoles by ensuring all documents are retrieved, bags are placed and the consoles are securely locked.

QUALIFICATIONS:

+ Clean driving record.

+ Experience driving a box truck.

+ Desire and willingness to work with all types of people.

+ Commitment to customer service and the flexibility to meet customer needs throughout the day.

+ You must be at least 21 years old for insurance purposes and pass drug, credit and background checks and present proof of a clean driving record.

+ Demonstrate safe and efficient driving skill

+ At least one year of route transportation experience preferred

+ Maintains a responsible approach to all security and safety matters related to Beacon Secure policies, and following the company’s policies and procedures at all times and bringing the manager’s attention to any areas of concern.

WORK HOURS AND SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday 7:00 am – 3:00 Pm
