Bear Marketing Hiring for WordPress Guru / Web Developer Job at East Brisbane, Australia Full Time

Bear Marketing, part of the Smith McKone Group, is a marketing company working in a range of industries – including the B2B and B2C space. We are looking for web developers to join our team on a project by project basis.

We are a fast turn-around, hands-on marketing team with a ‘can-do’ attitude and are looking for someone who has good people skills, self-motivated, creative thinker and a good team player. We’re looking to add someone to our team with great time management skills, who can take ownership of projects and meet agreed-upon deadlines.

The main tasks you will be undertaking are:

• Analysing, designing and building web projects of various scale ranging from a landing page to eCommerce platforms, applying a mixture of technical and creative touches.

• Developing primarily in Wordpress CMS utilising HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery, and PHP.

• Working with copywriters, designers and other content creators to guide the building of website content.

• Using the Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe XD and Adobe Illustrator to design and develop digital imagery, presentations and website mockups.

• Diagnosing and troubleshooting performance, security and network related issues as they arise during the development process.

• Communicating with the team and directly with clients, with an ability to write and speak to a high degree of accuracy in English.

The skills you will need are:

• Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS, Javascript, jQuery, PHP, DNS & WHM/cPanel, FTP.

• High proficiency in WordPress & WooCommerce as primary platforms. Experience with Hubspot, Shopify and other platforms is highly regarded.

• Ability to develop based on a provided mockup as well as the ability to create your own website designs and concepts.

• Ability to set up and analyse conversion tracking using Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Facebook Pixel.

• A robust and organised approach to your work with an absolute commitment to meet deadlines under pressure with high attention to detail.

• Ability to identify, in a timely manner, possible barriers to achieving deadlines.

• Ability to integrate client projects with third-party APIs.

This position also requires the successful applicant to have the ability to work under their own ABN, be suitably qualified (bachelor degree or higher qualification) and have at least 5 years’ experience developing websites in a commercial environment.

The selected candidate will be available to work between the times of 8 am till 5 pm Monday to Friday, as well as working with the creative team to create, update and maintain our clients’ websites.
