Experience in patient transportation in an acute hospital environment is desired. Requires successful completion of three (3) months of on-the-job-training. American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support certification required.OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Understands and demonstrates safe lifting and transport techniques. Knows and practices universal precautions as appropriate. Requires demonstrated communication skills to interact with courtesy, tact, empathy and professionalism in daily interaction with patients, their families, clinical licensed and non-licensed staff, physicians and management. Ability to understand and follow directions, as well as ability to comply with HIPAA confidentiality requirements, required. Requires the ability to recognize if the patient is experiencing stress or other issues during transport and immediately seeks assistance. Requires the ability to organize and prioritize transports and other work. Requires basic keyboarding skills and demonstrated familiarity with Microsoft Office software (MS Word), as well as ability to become familiar with hospital information.
