We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our Palmerston North team who loves to learn and share knowledge and who can bring a fresh perspective. You will get the opportunity to deliver a wide variety of project types and will be willing to get into the stretch zone while being supported by our senior engineers. You will be a qualified Mechanical, Mechatronics, Process, or Electrical Engineer with passion and good problem-solving skills. You have grown your skills within a similar project delivery environment, where you have built your technical design and project management experience through undertaking projects for and on industrial sites.

Every day will be different and bring new challenges; overall, this role will see you involved with:

• Project engineering of a variety of works from office and site-based locations, defining clear requirements and delivering on these outcomes for our clients.
• Project management ensuring clear communication lines to stakeholders and internal project teams and maintaining predictable project controls elements such as risk, schedule and cost.
• Creating and maintaining good working relationships with clients
• Identifying opportunities for Beca to expand service offerings across multiple clients and markets
• Getting to know our clients to gain an understanding of our client’s business across a wide range of industries
• Working across multiple industries, understanding client’s opportunities and challenges and translating them into work briefs that provide the right engineering solution
• Developing relationships across the Beca business and building project teams to deliver best for client
• Preparation of bid proposal documentation for review and approval prior to client submission

About You

You will have an enquiring mind and be able to problem-solve and think laterally. You will be comfortable working independently within your project team, showing initiative when managing and communicating your time and priorities. Pride in your work and attention to detail and a strong focus on ownership will be important to succeed in this environment. While not essential, experience across either energy or food & beverage would be advantageous, as would experience in process safety.
