About the role

Technology & Transformation supports the whole of Bank to achieve its goals and objectives through the appropriate use, delivery and management of information and technology related capabilities (i.e. people, process, information and technology).

This is an exciting new role, that’s part of our transformation program, we will provide lots of training and support to invest in you. In this role you will follow agile ways of working, work in a cross-functional team (squad) and will deliver outcomes in regular iterations.

Responsibilities include:
Design, develop, test and deploy code to a high standard in a variety of programming environments

Build and maintain effective relationships with Product Owners, Business stakeholders, customers and partners

Encourage others to consider alternatives, differing perspectives and strategies

Work through a task, initiative, or project to ensure completion to achieve successful outcomes

Deliver technical solutions in a wide range of methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Iterative etc. Support and facilitate agile principles, values and practices

About you

You will have solid experience in development practices interacting within a team environment. With proven practical experience building and supporting complex applications along with some solution design exposure. And you will be well versed in defect analysis and prioritisation.

Skills and experience required for the role:
Experience with Mainframe design, coding and delivery using – COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL

Experience using agile tools (eg. JIRA, Confluence) and exposure to practises that support an agile way of working (eg. Devops, pair programming, continuous build, test driven development and the ability to interpret acceptance criteria etc)

Mainframe skills in code management such as ISPW, Control M (an advantage)

Mainframe development use of a DevOps skills tool chain (such as Topaz, SonarQube/SonarLint, GitLab, z/OS Connect, Xpediter Interface)

Understanding of continuous integration methods and automated deployments
