M-F with an occasional weekends

Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities

1. Implements the Occupational treatment plan under the direction of the Licensed Occupational Therapist in accordance with State and Federal Regulations.

2. Provides therapeutic group and individual occupational therapy (under the supervision of the OTR/L) to address OT short-term goals in accordance with the Occupational Therapy section of the Multidisciplinary Treatment plan.

3. Documents patient participation and progress toward OT goals in daily group notes, weekly progress notes, and discharge summaries.

4. Participates as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team by attending daily treatment planing rounds.

5. Maintains up to date certification in Basic Life Support, CPI

6. Maintains competency in areas relevent to the care of the geropsychiatric patient.

7. Actively participates in supervision with the OTR/L.

8. Maintains the OT physical space, maintains stock and monitors supplies working within the structure of the OT budget.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program.

2. Previous experience in a related field working with the physically/mentally ill older adult or related setting.

3. Certified as a “Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant”.

4. Licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
