Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour

Hours:
Monday-Friday, 2:30 pm-9:30 pm with a 1/2 hour paid lunch, 35 hours per week during the school year. Hours change when school is not in session. Must be available and flexible to work day or night shifts.

Twelve-month, full-time, classified, unaffiliated position.
Position Summary:
Under general supervision, to perform custodial and general maintenance services required to maintain an attractive, sanitary, and safe facility for students, staff, and the public.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
Maintain assigned work areas for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, safe and attractive environment (e.g. empty wastebaskets, clean and disinfect, dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, wash windows/mirrors, polish).
Replenish classroom and restroom supplies (e.g. paper towels, toilet paper, soap) for the purpose of ensuring adequate quantities for daily use.
Prepare facility and grounds for daily operations (e.g. turn on lights, raise flag, unlocks doors, remove snow, salt icy patches) to ensure the facility is operational and safe for occupancy, depending on work shift.
Assist in maintaining seasonal ground work (snow, lawn).
Move and arrange furniture and equipment for meetings, activities, and events.
Follow state, federal, and Board safety practices, policies, and procedures.
Daily attendance and punctuality are required.
Report vandalism, damage to school property, security issues, and safety hazards to Facilities Manager.
Deliver various supplies, equipment, and packages to appropriate staff.
Respond to immediate safety and/or operational concerns (e.g. facility damage, alarms, plumbing issues) and take appropriate action to resolve.
Perform minor repairs (e.g. light plumbing, light electrical, basic carpentry, ceiling tiles, filters) as directed by the Facilities Manager.
Work cooperatively with District administration, co-workers, school staff, parents, students, and community organizations using District facilities.
Assist in facilities and grounds security by locking all windows, doors, and gates at the end of work shift.
Perform summer maintenance (e.g. strip/wax floors, move furniture, painting, rug cleaning) for the purpose of completing and/or facilitating summer projects.
Complete required federal, state, or District training.
Adequate use of employee technology resources in accordance with District policies and procedures (e.g., web applications, absence management).
Other responsibilities as determined by the Facilities Manager.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
General Maintenance Experience, preferred.
Ability to read and understand product labels, warnings, and safety precautions.
Knowledge of commercial-grade cleaning techniques, equipment, supplies, and chemicals.
Proficient use and maintenance of tools and power equipment necessary to maintain the facilities and grounds.
Must be available and flexible to work day or night shifts.
Ability to work cooperatively with others and be flexible.
Ability to work under pressure by adapting to changing work priorities.

Strength needed to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. occasionally, lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. frequently, and up to 20 lbs. constantly.
Frequent walking, standing, climbing, crawling, and working in tight areas, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, fingering, twisting, talking, and hearing.
Mobility to work in a typical school setting.
Vision including frequent near acuity, occasional far acuity, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Read and follow instructions and understand written and oral instructions.
Exposure to outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, and some hazardous conditions.
The noise level is usually moderate.
Requires the individual to interact cooperatively with the public, students, and staff.
