The role, at a glance:
The Software QA Engineer is a test professional who has a strong grounding in manual software and firmware testing. The Software QA Engineer focuses on the testability, robustness, performance and stability of firmware/software products. A strong candidate will also possess the skills necessary to develop, execute and maintain automated test suites and infrastructure.
The Software QA Engineer will join a stellar team of software, firmware and QA professionals, as well as collaborate with Application and Support Engineers and Product Managers/Owners to better understand where the greatest value can be realised through a holistic QA strategy.
How you’ll contribute:
Understanding the flow of code and how it interacts with different components.
Working with development teams, coordinating on product design, and offering inputs on the testability of functional elements and product designs.
Defining and executing manual tests and test plans.
Creating and maintaining test cases, executing test plans, reviewing and diagnosing reported bugs, and ensuring overall system quality prior to customer release.
Reproducing, debugging, and isolating problems, and verifying fixes.
Executing test automation.
Designing, developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting automated suites of tests through continuous integration for value added feedback.
Creating and maintaining documentation for SQA automation tools and frameworks to make them digestible for technical and non-technical individuals.
Researching test tools, methodologies, and trends and upgrading existing practices and processes.
Developing and implementing automation frameworks, tools, and other scripts or code to assist development efforts.
Performing component, contract, integration, performance, stress, and other test at the lower level (White Box) testing.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess the following combination of experience, knowledge and skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering. Dual Engineering/Information Technology degree preferred.
Commercial experience in test automation advantageous.
Work Environment:
Ability to frequently lift 5 kg, and periodically up to 25 kg.
Sit or stand for long periods.
