National Systems Support Assistant
For over 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has been giving young Canadians the confidence to achieve more by developing and implementing a wide range of mentoring services.
Many young people find themselves in vulnerable situations and facing adversities such as mental health struggles, family violence, identity issues or challenging living conditions, which put these youth at risk of not reaching their full potential. With the guidance and support of professionally trained volunteer mentors, these risks can be minimized or avoided all together.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada (BBBSC) is the National Office for more than 90 member agencies serving over 1,100 communities across Canada. Our role is that of catalyst, facilitator, and guardian of the brand. We provide support, services, training, and leadership to our member agencies, which deliver quality mentoring programs to over 40,000 children annually by mobilizing 21,300 volunteers.
Position Description:
We are looking to fill the entry-level, temporary position of National Systems Support Assistant. This is a remote work position and will report directly to the National Director, Technology. This position will also work closely with and take guidance from the Member Services team.
The National Systems Support Assistant plays an essential role by supporting the team in maintaining comprehensive documentation regarding the systems and tools used by the federation for core business practices.
Responsibilities:
· Augmenting current IT & Member Services staff.
· Assist in the configuration and administration of Microsoft365.
· Track, escalate, and resolve system issues using helpdesk ticketing software.
· Provide end-user support on Microsoft 365 applications.
· Assist with user account administration.
· Assist with creating/updating training and support articles.
· Conduct a review and documentation of custom system automation processes.
· Support the IT & Member Services teams with administrative tasks.
Requirements:
This temporary position is ideal for an applicant who:
– was registered as a full-time student during the preceding academic year;
– is a student in a secondary, post-secondary, CEGEP (Quebec only), vocational or technical program;
– is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and;
– is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.

– Propensity to learn quickly.
– Demonstrated ability to work alone and as a part of a team.
– A solid appreciation for the value of information management systems.
– Experience in identifying and documenting logical sequences.
– Comfort working in both in person and virtual work settings.
– Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and/or Azure considered an asset.
– Ability to communicate in French and English would be considered an asset.
