So what?
You would be joining our growing team and will lead a team of engineers working on our current platform. Within this role, there is a lot of scope to innovate and improve therefore alongside your contributions we are looking for someone who values people sharing ideas and finding new ways to improve existing processes that will aligns with the technical direction of the team!
We are looking for a strong agile leader, as within this space, we don’t just say the word agile – we live it!

What you’ll be doing?
This is very much a hands on role and you would be leading by example with the code you write, the designs you come up and your interactions within the team and outside. Day to Day you will be –

• Working in a scrum team architecting, delivering and documenting new features for the platform
• Working closely with the BA to ensure there is a good understanding of the requirements and delivering to those
• Collaborating with the QA in the team to ensure the right level of testing is implemented on both the engineering and QA side
• Collaborate with devops to improve our processes
• Help teammates both within and outside of the team
• Be proactive in clearing roadblocks that may come up
• Leading multiple scrum teams, mostly being involved in the initial architectural designs and setting out patterns for the team
• Performing line management responsibilities including coaching and 1:1’s.

Who we want

• Previous experience setting up patterns for other engineers to follow and provide mentoring to the wider team will be critical.
• Previous experience designing the application architecture for teams you’ve worked in.
• Experience in translating high level business requirements into a structured plan for the team to follow. Questioning requirements, ensuring they are right for the customer and pushing back when necessary.
• Passionate about web development and enjoy creating amazing customer experiences.
• Recognise the importance of high quality code through non negotiables like unit tests, integration/acceptance tests, performant, secure, robust clean code, etc.
• Solid Understanding of software delivery processes and tools eg. CI/CD
• Works in a structured logical way and doesn’t just jump into new tech without fully understanding it.
• Built applications used by a large number of external users and dealing with the challenges this brings.
• Good understanding of design patterns such as CQRS, DDD and why and when to use them.
• Functional understanding of cloud services (AWS/Azure/Google)
• Solid understanding of relational databases and ORMs (SQL Server and Entity Framework) and NoSql databases (nice to have)
• Worked in an Agile Scrum environment

The technical stuff
Must have

• .Net Core or strong .Net 4.0+, C#, Web API
• Automated testing frameworks (eg. NUnit)

Preferred

• Docker
• CI/CD (GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Kubernetes, Git, Nuget)
• AWS / Azure / Google Cloud experience

Nice to haves

• React/Angular/Vue
• gRPC
• Exposure to app monitoring (eg. RayGun. AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Splunk, Kibana, Grafana, ElasticSearch, Prometheus, InfluxDb, etc)
