Our Consultancy team is an essential part of our business, helping our clients to understand where and how they can have the greatest impact on young people’s lives, meeting both their own objectives and the needs of young people, teachers and parents.

Projects are varied, but could involve identifying curriculum, policy and market opportunities through desk research, auditing a client’s current materials, consulting with stakeholders, and creating strategic approaches and delivery models for a new or refined offer. The Consultant sits within this team and is responsible for contributing to winning and delivering consultancy work. They also use their knowledge, insights and networks to identify and help secure new work for the wider business and to support our sales and marketing activity.

Responsibilities

• Deliver education- and youth-related consultancy projects for clients, providing strategic insight, ideas and recommendations to inform clients’ decision-making and to help them to make a difference in the education market
• Ensure client projects are delivered on time, on budget and profitably
• Build positive relationships with and manage day-to-day relationships with clients
• Manage budgets, timeframes and delivery processes for client projects, where appropriate
• Undertake secondary desk research (e.g. market analysis, competitor mapping, policy and curriculum mapping) and present this to internal colleagues and clients
• Conduct workshops and interviews with clients, stakeholders and teachers to obtain insights to inform our thinking
• Create and contribute to behaviour change models, theories of change and other strategy tools and techniques
• Create high-quality and compelling reports, presentations and other deliverables which meet client objectives
• Identify, pursue and help to win new consultancy work for the business from existing and new clients, including writing proposals and contributing to pitches
• Contribute knowledge, subject matter expertise and insights to cross-business sales and marketing and business development activity, helping to secure work for the wider business
• Expand and share subject matter expertise in at least one core area of our business (e.g. mental health, sustainability, financial literacy, STEM, careers and employability, sport and physical activity), including knowledge of policy, curriculum, market trends and competitor activity
• Write or contribute to materials including but not limited to reports, white papers, articles and presentations which raise awareness of and interest in our core business
• Other job-related duties as assigned.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in consultancy, insight, project/programme management and/or an equivalent role within the education, youth, ESG or corporate responsibility sectors
• Solid foundational knowledge of UK education systems, structures, policy and priorities, and/or the broader youth landscape
• Passion for addressing educational inequalities and driving social change
• Subject matter expertise in at least one core area of our business in relation to young people (e.g. mental health, sustainability, financial literacy, STEM, careers and employability, sport and physical activity), ideally including knowledge of policy, curriculum, market trends and competitor activity
• Experience of building and nurturing relationships with a wide range of internal and external colleagues, including senior clients
• Experience of working directly with at least one of the following groups: businesses, education professionals and young people (desirable)
• Experience of managing projects, including schedules and project finances
• Experience of writing strategy documents, insight reports or similar documentation
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including excellent presentation skills and the ability to write in a clear and compelling way for different audiences
• Facilitation experience, e.g. workshop delivery, training, teaching
• Ability to think critically and outside the box – to see solutions rather than problems, challenge constructively, and take a creative approach to problem-solving
• Ability to think strategically and to understand what clients and audiences want and need
