Blackwood of DC Hiring for Laborer at Washington, DC Full Time
Job Description: The Unskilled Laborer will possess competency in the following areas to perform his/her role in a safely manner.
Transport required materials to specified locations on the jobsite by hand or using non-motorized equipment.
Organize and stock materials.
Place concrete by hand, come-along, shovel, rake, wheel barrow, etc.
Set up for concrete pours; including hoses, chutes, wash out boxes, plastic, etc. Clean up of the same.
Track on-site inventories.
Transport tools and equipment.
Jobsite housekeeping.
Hand excavation and grading.
Loads and unloads trucks by hand.
Cleans columns, walls, floors, tools and equipment during & after pours
Job Requirements: The Unskilled Laborer will possess the knowledge, skill, and/or ability in the following areas essential to perform the functions of the position.
High School diploma or equivalent; minimum of one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Possess Valid ID
Ability to write routine correspondence, and communicate with co-workers
Ability to comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
Ability to read and use a tape measure and apply associated math skills.
Must have the ability to exert heavy physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 60 pounds.
Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, climb or crawl.
Ability to tolerate heights without fear.
Work involves exposure to outside weather conditions and dirt, dust, fumes, and/or loud noises.
Able to work a flexible schedule, sometime early, late, and weekend as needed
