Job Description

We are currently seeking candidates with a minimum of two years of experience in AutoCAD for the Drafter job position. Additionally, it would be beneficial if the candidates have completed enclosed space training, CPR training, and first aid. While these qualifications are not mandatory, they would be advantageous for candidates who may need to visit job sites. We prefer that they are capable CAD Technicians with experience in AutoCAD 2D design, along with some GIS experience. As a CAD technician, they will collaborate with the engineering team on designs. Work direction will be given by the project manager with respect to implementing approach to drawing the design. The CAD technician will work as part of a small team with other technicians and engineers. He or she will be assigned various projects under the guidance of the assigned design engineer. The standard working day will be dynamic. The technician will need to be flexible with priorities based on demand.

Skills relevant for the Network Underground Services (NUS) Team:

• They should have a basic grasp of engineering drawing and principles
• Positive approach to learning GIS, permitting and CYME
• CAD technicians also need the ability to translate verbal and written information into two dimensional drawings. Prints will be used for site Civil and Electrical construction
• Accuracy and attention to detail are essential as designs are scale specific with respect to civil approach
• Communication and collaboration skills
