Editorial Assistant, Education – Bloomsbury Academic
The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to become a crucial part of Bloomsbury’s award-winning academic division. We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and hardworking Editorial Assistant to provide administrative and organisational support for our Academic Education list. The Academic Education list publishes research works, textbooks and supplementary texts in various sub-fields of education including: philosophy of education, teacher education, comparative and international education and higher education. Our best-selling titles include Reflective Teaching in Schools and Pedagogy of the Oppressed. We publish interdisciplinary book series such as ‘Radical Politics and Education’ and ‘Race, Ethnicity and Belonging in Education’ and the list has strong social justice focus. The role involves supporting two Commissioning Editors and one Senior Publisher and reports into a Commissioning Editor.
The Role
The role will provide administrative support to the Education team in the effective management of print and electronic products throughout the publication process. You will also liaise with authors, customers and other departments such as Marketing, Production and Digital, to deliver a high standard of author care.

The role is a full-time permanent position with a salary of £25,000 per annum.
The role is based at our London office 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP on a hybrid working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred). Allocated office days for this role are: Wednesday/Thursday.
As an Assistant role, this position is eligible for Bloomsbury’s Rental Deposit Loan Scheme. To assist candidates who want to start and to establish a career in publishing, Bloomsbury offers an interest-free rental deposit to support securing somewhere to live. The rental deposit loan can be up to £3,000 and will be paid back over 2 years.
