Provides actuarial services, actuarial advice, data analytics, and statistical modeling in support of corporate financial decisions affecting all Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas (BCBSKS) (and its subsidiaries) lines of businesses and other BCBSKS initiatives as appropriate.Position will be filled as either an Actuary Analyst or Associate Actuary, depending upon education, skills and experience.“This position is eligible to work remotely in accordance with our Telecommuting Policy. Applicants must reside in Kansas or be willing to relocate as a condition of employment.”

Essential Functions

+ Complete internal and external surveys, special studies related to rating of benefits, and research of historical data.

+ Assist with the completion of Schedules/Exhibits for Quarterly and Annual Statements.

+ The maintenance and preparation/reporting of monthly and quarterly reports.

+ The preparation/reporting of unpaid claims liability including the cost sharing reduction (CSR) liability amounts, financial projections, enrollment projections, trends.

+ Participate in the preparation of all statewide annual rate filings to the Kansas Insurance Department, as well as related Board exhibits and communications.

+ Assist in testing all benefit designs for Minimum Value (MV) and loading the results to a DB2 table.

+ The preparation/reporting of Divisible Surplus (Retros) balances for group business, creditability status, Part D subsidy, retention percentages/costs by LOB, Mental Health Parity Testing.

+ The preparation/reporting of demographic and other factors used in the rating of individual and groups as well as the development of our rate structure.

+ Assist in supplying the necessary data to the Accounting Department in order to complete the Medical Loss Ratio (MLR) Report for HHS.
