The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join the Technology team in our BlueScope Building Components business as a Support/Software Developer. BlueScope Building Components, a division of BlueScope in Australia, manufactures and markets steel building products, solutions and services through its four leading brands: Lysaght, Fielders, Ranbuild and Kiteleys.

In this exciting opportunity, you’ll be a key contributor to providing high levels of technical care and support to a broad and diverse portfolio of customers. You’ll do this by working with our proprietary software, creating customer facing apps, and designing solutions for building industry professionals. Success in this role will grow from connecting with other developers and partnering with internal stakeholders to create innovative solutions for continued business growth.

This role can be based in locations in Melbourne VIC, Brisbane QLD or Sydney NSW.

What Will You Do?

With a strong focus on finding effective solutions to real world business issues using your own creative methods, you will:

• provide escalated client support by interrogating how the software works and educating end users
• frontline troubleshooting and diagnostics
• work in a varied hosting environment, such as on-premise and cloud
• provide expertise to a suite of business improvement projects
• design and build new features and enhancement

More About You

Perhaps you are a recent graduate or someone looking to further develop their experience with software development, bringing a willingness to grow, learn and develop, you will have:

• a customer mindset – ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
• high attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple priorities
• a proactive approach in building constructive and effective relationships
• had exposure to Net/C#/C++ , HTML, JavaScript, SQL Server and productivity tools such as the Atlassian suite (JIRA / Confluence / JIRA Service Desk)
• relevant tertiary qualifications
