Boeing Phantom Works – International is seeking an experienced software engineer to work on ML/AI developments for its Autonomous Systems portfolio. Your responsibilities will be:

• Perform ML/AI software development and integration activities
• Develop unit and functional tests and conduct integration testing
• Optimise and integrate software into small form factor computing capabilities.

You will work as part of a multi-discipline engineering team to implement autonomous behaviours, artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities on a range of autonomous systems in development for The Boeing Company. In addition to being able to work cooperatively within a team, we require an experienced software engineer with a minimum of 8 years of industry and/or research experience who possesses the following attributes:

Essential

• Bachelor Degree in Mathematics/Computer Science/Software Engineering or related.
• Strong mathematical skills, with focus on pattern recognition problems, numerical optimisation and linear equations
• Very Strong Python and C++ programming skills.
• Good software development skills in other languages including C, C#.
• Experience in large volumes of high dimensional data processing, image/signal processing.
• Experience in software requirements analysis, functional analysis, software design & development, and software integration & test.
• Ability to adapt quickly to change, support the development of technical plans, and decompose high level guidance into value-added prototyping requirements and capabilities.
• Ability to communicate complex software concepts in both written and verbal formats to management as well as the technical team.
• Comfortable working and thriving in a rapid prototyping and innovative environment.
• Coach, mentor and motivate junior team members.

Desirable

• Master Degree (research) or PhD in science and/or engineering.
• Significant experience using both Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Experience in participating in software development cycles using agile methods and processes.
• Ability to implement and utilize systems and processes for ensuring quality and configuration management for all prototypes and products.
• Experience with embedded systems.
• Experience with:
• the latest trends and approaches for implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and autonomous behaviours;
• machine learning/deep learning techniques; and
• sensing systems (visual, infrared, laser, etc.) and processing techniques, is highly desirable.
