BOEING Hiring for Principal Software Engineer – Network Communications Job at Brisbane, Australia Full Time

The Opportunity

We are seeking a talented Principal Software Systems Engineer to work as part of the team to support the delivery of next generation Communications Systems and the continued evolution of those capabilities to the Australian Defence Force. The role is based in Brisbane.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of robust networking and communications software with a focus on cyber security, scalability and performance.
• Design, development, integration and test of integrated hardware and software systems.
• Development of engineering documentation and configuration management of complex system hardware and software.
• Experience or a sound understanding in one or more of the following is highly desirable:
  • IP networking protocols and implementation of network security.
  • VoIP telephony configuration and integration.
  • Linux skills with an understanding of the OS, Sys-admin and Virtualization.
  • Python / C programming.
  • Implementation of network security and security testing of network appliances.
  • Behavior of networks over radio links and an understanding of radio configuration.

Experience/Qualifications

• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in systems or software engineering.
• Experience within Defence or complex engineering project environments is desirable.
• The ability to communicate and collaborate with a diverse team, in a conscientious and inclusive way.
• Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.
