BOEING Hiring for Software Engineer (Unreal Engine) Job at Brisbane, Australia Full Time

The opportunity

The Software Engineer (Unreal Engine) at Boeing Research and Technology Australia will form part of a diverse world leading team focussed on research and development of real-time 3D software for exciting new aerospace applications. The successful applicant will draw on their Unreal Engine 4 development skills to contribute to innovate technologies used across Boeing. This role will expose the successful candidate to inspiring capabilities across the Boeing enterprise with the Brisbane based team contributing to a range of aircraft, training, and human spaceflight programs including Boeing’s new spacecraft, the CST-100 Starliner. The team is comprised of people from a range of different backgrounds including engineers, game developers, 3D artists, and psychologists so we know that the best candidate for this role might not look like a typical aerospace engineer.

Responsibilities

• Research and innovate new applications of interactive and immersive technologies;
• Research, develop, and integrate cutting edge technologies to produce state of the art extended reality (VR/AR/MR) experiences.
• Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of real-time 3D applications;
• Develop interfaces between new and existing systems;
• Liaise regularly with stakeholders to understand needs and prioritise requirements;
• Contribute to architectural design.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Game Development, or a related field;
• Minimum of 5 years of software development experience;
• Minimum of 2 years of Unreal Engine 4 development experience;
• Demonstrated experience in modern software development practices using C++, and the ability to write efficient, clean, readable, reliable, and portable code;
• Strong algorithmic and mathematical foundation;
• Experience designing and implementing systems and APIs to be used by other programmers;
• Experience developing software in a team environment;
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team;
• Ability to keep up to date with advances in technology.

Desirable

• Experience developing for virtual reality and/or augmented reality;
• Experience integrating external software packages with real-time 3D engines;
• Experience with designing software architecture;
• Research experience;
• Experience developing in a range of different software languages.
