The Opportunity

The Software Technical Writer and Tester will work within the software team to assist developers to write user manuals and to test developed software. This position is responsible for enabling end users with high quality software guides which cover new software features, feature improvements through to whole new applications.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities as Technical Writer and Tester go hand in hand as the software is rigorously tested with the end use in front of mind. This position is then also responsible for creating bugs or defects within the defect tracking system.

Experience/Qualifications

This position does not need to be filled by a software engineer or developer, with a focus on the end use, development of high quality user guides and an hunger to ensure only high quality software makes it through to release. Engineers and technicians with operational experience who have been around software development environments are ideal candidates and bridging training will be provided for the right candidate.

To be successful in this role:

• Understanding of software development
• Ability to appreciate the end user and operational context of software being developed.
• Very high attention to detail and passion for high quality outputs.
• Experience as a software developer (desirable)
• Experience as an aviation operator or technician (desirable)
• Experience with defect reporting (desirable)
• Australia citizenship to meet Australian Defence security requirements.
