The Opportunity

We are looking for a curious, creative and collaborative person to join our team to help drive and deliver innovation within new and existing Boeing products and programs around the globe. You will work as a Software and DevOps Engineer in BR&T-Australia’s Brisbane Technology Centre and support research activities alongside an open and motivated group of engineers solving hard problems through cloud software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, integrate, test and deploy innovative, scalable and modular software for challenging research problems in accordance with Boeing Enterprise standards and industry best practices.
• Understanding technical needs within the business to help define and further grow research goals and mature value-add technologies.
• Participate in technical reviews and provide regular status information on task alignment with project goals.
• Document design decisions and develop integration and verification procedures to demonstrate compliance to requirements.
• Assisting in the planning, execution and support of a diverse research portfolios
• Support the software quality efforts to across the research and development lifecycle.

Experience/Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or higher in fields relating to Computer Science, Math, Physics, or Engineering with 2+ years’ experience in software development, test and/or integration
• Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript or Web Development languages.
• Education or experience with the Linux OS

Desirable

• Excellent communication skills to facilitate interaction between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with automating software builds, unit tests, integration tests, deployment, and installations using DevOps tools and techniques (GitLab, Jenkins, etc)
• Experience with virtualization and container orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience using team collaboration tools including Git, Bitbucket, JIRA, and Confluence.
• Experience in cloud application delivery platforms such as Pivotal Cloud Foundry, OpenShift, AWS, Azure, etc.
• Experience with open-source databases like MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, etc.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Experience in designing and implementing Web-APIs (Swagger, WebSocket, etc)
• Proficiencies in frameworks such as Angular/React/VueJS and/or NodeJS (NestJS/Express) etc.

This position is best suited to individuals who are self-starters, highly-motivated, work well in fast-paced multi-discipline team environments, and are able to work with quick decisions for the best interest of the business with commitment to learn and adapt to the ever-changing technology landscape.
