POSITION OVERVIEW

The team member will work in our production facility and assist our Pastry Chef in the production of ice cream, prep ingredients, keep the kitchen stocked, organized, and clean, and assist with duties as assigned.

• Organize kitchen equipment and ingredients
• Chop, prep, prepare ingredients for ice cream
• Make ice cream, fill containers, transport to appropriate freezers
• Restock ingredients as necessary
• Ensure equipment and kitchen is kept thoroughly clean and sanitized daily
• Execute all aspects of ice cream cake, ice cream sandwich and ice cream production, including ingredient prep, recipe execution, and inventory management
• Execute daily ice cream production plans
• Maintenance and care of production equipment and tools
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of production areas
• Clearly communicate needs or issues with pastry chef and or owner
• Check quality throughout the day to ensure Boomtown quality and safety standards are met or exceeded
• Follow sanitation and safety procedures including knife handling and kitchen equipment
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen and ensure proper set up and/or breakdown of the prep areas
• Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
• Contributes to a positive team environment

• Experience working in a kitchen highly preferred

• Ability to perform tasks that require heavy lifting (up to 50lbs), standing on feet for long periods of time, and moving about a kitchen
• Ability to walk in and out of temperature extremes in our freezers
• Mastery of basic arithmetic, fractions, decimals, percents, ratios and both English units of measurement and the metric system.
• Pastry production experience not required, but highly preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 – $18.00 per hour
