At BrandSafway, we know our employees are our greatest asset, which is why we give them the tools, training and resources to be successful. Come join our growing Finance team. We are looking for a Senior Fixed Assets Accountant who will work under the general direction of the Fixed Assets Manager.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and perform accounting activities related to cost of acquiring and maintaining our traditional (non-fleet equipment) assets. This includes adding cost of newly acquired asset to the fixed assets sub-ledgers, retiring of disposed assets, transfers of assets between various FA sub-ledgers.

• Prepare monthly journal entries to record depreciation expense, retirement, and transfers of assets.

• Analyzes and reconcile the general ledger accounts related to the fixed assets assets registers.

• Assists in all aspects of the monthly financial close process including processing journal entries for computers and vehicles allocation charges for multiple operating locations and capital purchase orders accruals.

• Assist with the quarterly review and annual audit by preparing schedules, resolving questions, etc.

• Prepare fixed assets analysis and financial reports as may be requested by management.

• Identify and communicate any suggestions for improvement to the internal control environment including policy and process changes

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.

• Requires at least 3-5 years’ experience within an Accounting Department with relevant and strong experience in Fixed Assets and General Accounting, preferably at multi-national organization with multiple locations.

• Experience working with Sage fixed assets or similar systems.

• Strong analytical skills.

• Work requires initiative and the ability to analyze complex accounting documents to improve processes and reporting where results have monetary impact.

• Must possess strong computer skills overall, including the ability to navigate between different systems. Requires experience and competency working with Excel, i.e. Vlookup and pivot tables.

• Experience working with Microsoft Access application is highly desired.
