It’s time to take the step up to a General Manager gig.

Amazing opportunity exists right now to join a national footprint retailer as General Manager People & Culture.

The company has a long history of success, and is part of a global business. Your role with have the responsibility for all of New Zealand, with your own locally based team, servicing over 100 branches and in excess of 1,00 team members. You will also benefit from the support and guidance of the Asia Pac leadership team.

The business is undertaking a long term strategic overhaul of all things People and Culture across all aspects of the business.

The strategy has been well thought out, is realistic in its’ expectations, and now needs an organised, operationally focused senior People and Culture leader to drive the execution of the plan.

You may not have operated at General Manager previously, but that’s OK. 
Your success will be based on other things.

Firstly, you will have deep HR P&C Manager experience, backed by related tertiary qualifications. Ideally you have gained at least some of that experience with a multi-site, geographically spread environment. Even better if that has included retail.

This is a fast paced environment, with multiple stakeholders. You will need to balance an organised mind and structured approach with the ability to change gears regularly.

You will also rely on your ability to partner with diverse stakeholders, all with differing needs and expectations. Luckily, one of your key strengths is your ability to build excellent relationships with almost everyone.

Success will be measured by tangible growth towards the strategic objectives. A simpler way of saying it would be to that you just need to be able to get stuff done.
