Brett/Robinson Gulf Corp. Hiring for Accounts Payable Clerk at Gulf Shores, AL Full Time

Purpose of the Job: Compute, classify and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records for multiple Home Owner’s Associations.

Minimum Skills and Abilities Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field preferred but not required;
• Two (2) to five (5) years prior experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk
• The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in written English;
• The ability to understand and organize a problem and then to select a mathematical method or formula to solve the problem;
• Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures;
• Knowledge of Excel and Appfolio Accounting Software;
• Detail-oriented and highly organized;
• Must be able to work effectively as part of a team

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Serves as a representative of Gulf Corp Services, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other employees of Gulf Corp Services, owners, guests, and other members of the community;
• Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information;
• Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy and proper codes;
• Operate 10-key calculators;
• Receive, record and bank cash, checks, and vouchers;
• Keeps records of invoices and support documents;
• Verifies compiled data from vendor invoices to ensure accuracy;
• Resolves discrepancies on accounting records;
• Records financial transactions and other account information to update and maintain accounting records;
• Maintain and reconcile bank accounts;
• Pay invoices according to terms negotiated in a timely and accurate manner;
• Interacts with vendors ensuring problem resolution;
• Perform general office duties such as filing, answering telephones and handling routine correspondence;
• Reports safety hazards;
• Attends departmental meetings;
• Performs other duties as assigned.
