Job Description
Position Summary:
The Jr. Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting in the preparation of financial planning and forecasting documents, maintaining related support schedules and conducting the analysis of income and expense accounts as needed. The Jr. Financial Analyst will also be responsible for limited treasury related matters of the division, including preparation of their cash requests for wire transactions.
Responsibilities:
Reporting & Analysis
The Jr. Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting with the forward planning and analysis for their Division by ensuring accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial information. Specific tasks include, but are not limited to working with more senior Financial or operations staff on:
Assist with preparation of month-end, quarter-end and year-end schedules
Assist with preparation of financial reporting deliverables for month-end and quarter-end, including corporate reporting, financial memos, margin analysis, market evaluation, Sr. Management reporting, quarter-end management meeting packages, etc
Assist with identifying trends in financial performance
Assist with performing operational analysis
Assist with preparation of other financial analysis, including re-reviews, burden reviews, etc.
Assist with conducting ad hoc analysis, as requested
Process Management
The Jr. Financial Analyst is responsible for day-to-day accounting functions. Specific tasks include, but are not limited to:
Forecasting
The Jr. Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the cash forecasting process and preparing and reviewing information for the annual budgeting process. Specific tasks include, but are not limited to:
Cash Flow – assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual cash flow forecasts and variance analysis
Business Plan – assisting in the creation of divisional continuities, creation of detailed business plan rollups (including non-salary G&A, coordinating other departmental budgets, financing and other misc. description items), as well as any detailed analysis required on results (including items for the Quarterly Executive Summary)
Operation Income assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual guidance updates, as required
Miscellaneous
The Jr. Financial Analyst will be involved from time-to-time on projects that are relevant to the department and the division. These will be on an as-required basis and may include projects associated with other departments, or within the Accounting/Finance Department.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in a Business-related field is required.
Some finance and accounting knowledge
Strong attention to detail, and strong organizational skills
Self-motivated, strong analytical, relationship-building and business-partnering skills.
Proficiency in excel, and willingness to learn new systems
