LEAN EngineerGlobal Location: United States, Lansing, MI# of openings: 1Permanent:Temporary:Temporary duration : DescriptionJOB DESCRIPTION: BRPMS Engineer ( LEAN Engineer) GENERAL SUMMARY: As a BRPMS Engineer, you be responsible to build, develop, plan, supervise training and contents linked with philosophy, culture of BRPMS toolbox. This role will be responsible for identifying and executing breakthroughs in operations utilizing various quality, lean, and six sigma methodologies. Emphasis is on culture building and continuous improvement skills that will lead to self-sustaining capabilities across the plant. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Drive and execute lean initiatives across the entire organization including, value-stream mapping, kaizen events, TPM, 6S, visual factory, SMED, Kanban, 3P and other lean tools and principlesUnder general supervision, responsible for facilitation of lean events such as: line balancing, VSM, 3P, One-piece flow and leading teams through implementation and sustainment of improvementsSupport projects such as reducing operating costs through cost reduction, improved process control, machine reliability, machine set-up times and introducing new products and processesSupport implementation of pull processes between manufacturing processes, and the supply chain. Ensure sustainability and improvement to inventory turnsUtilize problem solving methods such as: PDCA, DMAIC, 5 why, 8D, A3, Ishikawa diagram, and FMEA to address root causes and validate counter measures that prevent future recurrenceSupport lean daily management by participating in operations meetings, conducting Gemba observations, supporting idea generation and problem solving on the shop floor, driving 6S activitiesActs as change agent to instill Lean culture throughout the organization while also approaching the frontline workers with humilityCreate processes and metrics to track the performance of lean activities and ensure sustainabilityDevelops strong relationships built on trust and respect with leaders and employees at all levels and cross functionallyProvides CI training and coaching at all levels of the assigned site.Participates on and coaches teams on problem solving aimed at the resolution of value stream issues and concernsAssist leadership with Transformation plan. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:Degree in Industrial Engineering /Technical career and experience on pertinent discipline3 years minimum experience in Manufacturing environmentExperience in design of experiments, 6-Sigma implementationExcellent communication skills, written and verbal, with attention to detail and accuracy.Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as Google Workspace and AutoCAD.Demonstrates ability to work well with others in a matrix team environment.Measurable degree of six-sigma training or exposure to methodology.Must have experience in identifying areas of improvement, planning for and leading Kaizen events.Independent thought, good judgment, problem solving skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects a must.Must be self-motivated requiring little to no supervision.
