Sales Manager – Bryan’s Auction

Bryan’s www.bryansfarm.com is a leading internet auction company based in Ontario and has earned a solid reputation in the industry. Started in 1970 they have consistently progressed to being a leading internet auction company in Canada. Originally providing live auction services, Bryan’s has developed successful online auctions over the past 10 years and now attracts well over a million auction item views per month. Bryan’s recently expanded into the Belleville/Trenton area opening a new branch in March 2019. Further expansion is planned.
Bryan’s has a history of steady growth and profitability and the outlook for the future is very promising indeed. The Sales Manager is a new role required now because of the steady growth and profitability experienced. Bryan’s is poised to get to the next level in sales via our entry into new markets combined with a structured professional approach to selling by leading the existing sales staff.
The role of the Sales Manager is to continually develop and foster strong relationships from consignors to final customers individually and through the sales team. Bryan’s brand has been successfully built through long standing credible, reliable and trust based relationships through every transaction in the business. The Sales Manager will be able to identify opportunity with consignors by assessing their potential to provide quality items, clearly disclosed and brought to the auction in a logistically efficient manner. The ability to understand the operational value-add processing that Bryan’s staff contributes further enables the success of bringing items to market where buyers from a broad geography will see value and be ready to place bids.
Consignors at Bryan’s can range from over stock wholesalers to landscapers and governmental agencies. These consignors are bound by the common denominator of a need to find secondary markets for their end of life cycle products and material. They seek the knowledge and expertise of Bryan’s to set their expectations. Therefore, it is crucial that the sales team understand and deliver clear, timely information that consignors can communicate logically to their stakeholders.
Strategically, the Sales Manager will capitalize on trends and opportunities in the industry and marketplace while being driven by facts and data available.
The Opportunity:
This is an opportunity for a strategic thinking, yet operationally focused Sales leader to manage sales staff at all branches and to develop and implement effective sales strategies and programs aligned with the strategic plans and mission and vision of the company.
The successful candidate will exercise their previous knowledge and experience in managing/leading a sales team in all aspects. They will help the organization to build the foundation for future growth and to position the company for the next generation in terms of size, capability and operational/sales excellence. This role is instrumental in executing strategic plans for continued growth while leading the organization by example in all aspects.
Senior Sales management experience in a service industry is ideal. Auction industry experience is not required. The Sales Manager will report to the General Manager. There is longer term opportunity for the right candidate to advance beyond Sales Manager.
