Director of Marketing
Reporting to: Managing Director
Team Management: Marketing Team, Agencies, & Graphic Designer
Suitable for remote working: yes (80%)
Suitable for core hours: yes (between 10am-4pm)
Salary: £60,000 to £70,000 (depending on experience)

Working closely with the Managing Director, Commercial Director, Directors of Operations & Academic Strategy & Delivery, and external agencies, the post holder will develop, own and deliver our marketing strategy, in support of international student recruitment initiatives, to ensure BSC’s profile is prominent and competes effectively across the educational sector.

The successful candidate will act as intermediary between the creative, commercial, and operational teams. This is a Board level role within the organisation.

Duties

Marketing & External Communications

• Work closely with BSC Commercial teams and external agencies to report on market intelligence, help identify opportunities, manage the creation of marketing collateral and generate creative campaign ideas
• Direct the planning and production of marketing campaigns, including writing briefs and copy, liaising with BSC team or external agencies as appropriate and bringing projects to a final sign off point
• Website and content management: writing, translating to other languages, and proofreading the content; writing compelling content for internal and external use
• Create a messaging strategy, positioning, differentiators, proof points, and value propositions for education products and services
• Social media planning, research, and execution; creating engaging content for the regional social profiles aligned with the market preferences
• Supporting the development of PM and SEO strategy, including seeding content and link building
• Identify appropriate stories from across BSC for use in PR and external communications
• Ensure timeliness and quality control of asset development and deliver final campaign assets to internal stakeholders as outlined in the creative brief
• Develop a strategy for increasing the volume of direct sales, as we continue to grow a balanced business
• Develop and prepare reports and presentation materials for the Board.
• Direct the retail product strategy

Internal Communications

• Lead on development and implementation of BSC’ branding strategy as communicated throughout the colleges
• Lead on the visual presentation of each college to ensure they maintain an appropriate blend of BSC brand and local personality
• Manage key annual corporate recruitment marketing materials such as prospectuses, factsheets, posters and presentations
• Develop and maintain close relationships with the operations and academic teams at BSC to ensure an effective flow of information
• Provide support to all teams across BSC as required, liaising closely with all departments regarding marketing activities and upcoming plans
• Maintain in-depth product knowledge of BSC’s portfolio for General English, Teacher Training, OET and Pathways streams as well as all new products as they become available for sale
• Communicate campaign objectives, timelines and deliverables to sales team and prepare marketing activity reports for internal executive team

Specific Role Requirements

• 5 + years’ experience in marketing in education sector desirable
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in at least one other language (Mandarin desirable)
• Knowledge and experience of website analytics tools, HTML, website management (CMSs), and email/CRM
• Knowledge and experience of PPC and digital performance media
• A strong background in digital marketing
• Experience of coordinating projects and meeting deadlines
